Prof. Dr. İsmail Karaoğlan, a faculty member of the Department of Industrial Engineering at our university’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, achieved significant international success.

 

At the 16th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2026), hosted by the Department of Industrial Engineering at Gazi University and organized by IEOM Society International, Prof. Dr. İsmail Karaoğlan was presented with the “Outstanding Professor Award in Operations Research.”

 

At the international conference, which brought together researchers from many countries, academics and industry representatives who had made significant contributions to their fields were recognized with awards. Prof. Dr. İsmail Karaoğlan was also deemed worthy of this prestigious award for his academic studies and scientific contributions in the field of operations research.

 

Stating that the award was a great source of happiness and pride for him, Prof. Dr. İsmail Karaoğlan said, “Receiving an award at the same ceremony as distinguished academics and industry representatives who have made significant contributions to their fields has made this meaningful recognition even more special for me.”

 

Prof. Dr. Karaoğlan thanked IEOM Society International, the conference chairs, and the organizing committee for the award. He also expressed his gratitude to Konya Technical University for its support of his work and to Gazi University, of which he is very proud to be a graduate.
