The 10th edition of the “Konya Technical University Engineering Student Project Market” (KTMOPP) organized by our university started with a magnificent ceremony. The opening of the event, held under the motto “Join the competition, carry your idea to the future,” was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, our Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Ali Köken, Secretary General Kamil Gök, Konya Sugar Factory General Manager Kemal Ateş, representatives from the business world, and many guests.
First organized in 2006 and attracting great interest every year, KTMOPP has once again opened its doors to project enthusiasts and the business world. The competition, shaped around four different themes, will continue until Thursday, May 14. Engineering students from across Turkey have the opportunity to exhibit their projects reflecting their knowledge and experience within the scope of the event.
Our Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Ali Köken, who delivered the first speech at the opening, thanked our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik for his support and said: “The innovative ideas, strong dreams, and dynamic problem-solving abilities of our young people with different perspectives enable the emergence of valuable projects. Each project exhibited here is a concrete result of long hours of work, team spirit, determination, and the excitement of production.”
“ORGANIZING A COMPETITION FOR THE 10TH TIME IS VERY IMPORTANT”
Then taking the podium, our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik stated that organizing the competition for the 10th time is of great importance and expressed that it is a source of pride for a university to be the founder and host of such a rooted organization.
Rector Çelik made the following evaluations in his speech: “Konya Technical University continues its activities with the vision of being a research university that produces science and technology under the slogan ‘Pioneer of Development,’ offering human and environment-oriented solutions for the development and prosperity of society. We are very happy to be together with you at the 10th Engineering Student Project Market organized by our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. This event, which has become a tradition, has been branded under the name ‘Konya Technical University Engineering Student Project Market (KTMOPP).’ I wish the event to be productive and successful, and I thank everyone who accepted our invitation.”
After the speeches, the competition was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik and his delegation, together with academic and administrative staff and business world representatives, examined the projects and received information from the students.
