The 10th edition of the Engineering Student Project Market (KTMOPP) organized by our university gave out its awards. The competition concluded with an award ceremony attended by academics, students, sponsors and guests, along with fun events, held at the Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
In the organization where projects of undergraduate students studying in engineering faculties were exhibited, the projects were evaluated under 4 different themes. The competition, which featured a total of 126 projects from different universities, attracted great interest.
The winning projects are as follows:
In the field of “Information, informatics, software and artificial intelligence technologies,” the project “Design of an Intelligent System for Detecting Advanced Skin Lesions with Jetson Nano,” supervised by Prof. Dr. Rahime Ceylan and prepared by student Mete Can Yaşar, became first, while in the field of “Machinery, Electronics, Defense Industry and Space Technologies,” the project titled “Control and Stabilization of an Eight-Motor Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Based on ROS and PID,” supervised by Prof. Dr. Akif Durdu and prepared by student Beyza Nur Yağcı, received the first prize.
Another project deemed worthy of the first prize was in the thematic area of “Climate Change, Efficiency, Sustainability, Energy and Environmental Technologies,” supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çisem Kırbıyık Kurukavak and prepared by student Doğa Yüce: “Ultra-Fast Pesticide Detection Based on Fluorescence Quenching with Carbon Quantum Dots,” while in the field of “Earth Sciences, Construction, Materials, Chemical Technologies and Occupational Health and Safety,” the first prize was awarded to the project titled “Parylene Coating Corrosion Prevention in Underwater Electronic Systems,” supervised by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karaman and prepared by students Tuana Gümüş and Berfin Batur.
The final day of the competition, during which the award ceremony took place, was completed with various events, concerts and games.
