The REACTXCHEM event organized by our university’s Chemical Engineering Community was held at the Prof. Dr. Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. The event began with opening speeches by our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Head of the Chemical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kuş, and Konya Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Vehbi Konarılı.
OUR RECTOR: “UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY COOPERATION IS A STRATEGIC NECESSITY”
Speaking at the opening, our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik drew attention to the fact that universities are institutions that not only produce knowledge but also bring that knowledge together with industry, stating, “It is of great importance for our students to establish direct contact with the sector for their career planning. Such events contribute to the integration of theoretical knowledge with practice while also supporting our country’s production power.”
PROF. DR. KUŞ: “CHEMICAL ENGINEERING REQUIRES A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVE”
Head of the Chemical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Mahmut Kuş, in his speech, emphasized that chemical engineering plays a critical role in many areas of industry and said, “Our students’ following current developments and meeting with sector representatives will increase their professional competence. Events such as REACTXCHEM offer an important opportunity in this regard.”
VEHBİ KONARILI: “YOUNG ENGINEER CANDIDATES ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY”
Konya Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Vehbi Konarılı also touched upon the importance of young people’s more active participation in production processes, stating, “Strengthening the cooperation between industry and the university will contribute to the training of qualified human resources. Today’s students will form tomorrow’s production power.”
The REACTXCHEM event, which aimed to bring students and sector representatives together and contribute to strengthening university-industry cooperation, continued throughout the day with the participation of leading company representatives from the sector. Participants had the opportunity to closely get to know sector experiences through the sessions and discussions to be held.
