Dear members of our press,
I congratulate all our press workers who work with great devotion to ensure that society has accurate, impartial and fast information, and who selflessly fulfil their duty to enlighten the public, on January 10th Working Journalists Day.
The profession of journalism, which requires responsibility and effort, also undertakes an extremely important task for social development and strengthening democracy. Despite difficult working conditions, our journalists who make great efforts to ensure that the public has accurate information, play an important role in increasing social awareness.
Journalism is an important profession that is the eyes and ears of the public and fulfils the public's right to receive news as such. From the reporter who pursues news with his camera or camcorder in difficult conditions, whether it is cold or hot, rain or mud, day or night, to the team that draws the page and edits the images, all members of the press are truly doing an important job. On this occasion, I once again congratulate the journalists of the Turkish press community who act with a sense of duty under all circumstances and wish them many more successful years.
First, I wish all journalists, including the valuable press members working in our university and region, a career full of health, happiness and success.
